After participating in a celebration of the Iraqi police's 84th year of service, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad gives the thumbs up from a helicopter carrying him back to the Green Zone in central Baghdad. During the event the blast of twin suicide bombers who attacked the ministry of Interior compound some 400 yards away from where the event was held could be heard. The attack killed seven policemen and injured many others.
